Nitish orders to keep Kesariya Buddha Stupa safe

Patna, Dec 11 (UNI) Instructing to maintain safety and security at Kesariya Buddha Stupa, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today asked the authorities concerned for early completion of the under-construction Tourist Facility Centre in Kesariya, located in East Champaran district.
After conducting an on-site inspection of the under-construction Tourist Facility Centre in Kesariya, Kumar directed officials to speed up the work and ensure timely completion of the centre being developed near the historic Kesariya Buddha Stupa, which attracts a large number of domestic and international visitors.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the construction of the auditorium and various tourist amenities being built at the site. Kumar said the new facility would help the visitors understand the multiple dimensions of Buddhism as well as Bihar’s glorious heritage.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to take full care of the security, maintenance, and overall development of the Kesariya Buddha Stupa complex. He toured the stupa premises, assessed the available tourist facilities and reiterated that the state government has undertaken several initiatives to protect and develop the ancient monument.
He said that the Tourist Facilitation Centre will include a 5D theatre with seating capacity for 48 people, showcasing films based on important Buddhist teachings, a dedicated Bihar Pavilion displaying frames related to the state’s historical and cultural legacy, educational exhibitions highlighting Bihar’s cultural significance, installation of over 90 statues in custom-designed display boxes, artistic sculptures displayed in open areas and eight replicas of major Buddhist monuments of Bihar, to be placed at the four corners of the campus.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the Health and Wellness Centre in Tajpur. He asked officials to ensure that patients do not face any inconvenience and ordered the widening of the approach road for better access to the centre. He reviewed medical facilities, cleanliness, availability of medicines, and vaccination services during his visit and interacted with the healthcare staff and distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to beneficiaries present at the centre.
Kumar later visited the Higher Secondary School, Tajpur, where he inspected various stalls put up on the school grounds. He also visited the Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, interacted with the students living in the hostel, and reviewed the facilities available to them.
At the Government Middle School, Kesariya, the Chief Minister observed cultural and educational presentations by students and a dance presentation by mute and hearing-impaired girls.
